Bicicletta nelle Dolomiti

– Auronzo: the cycle track stretches for the whole length of the lake on both sides and then continues in the direction of Misurina as far as Giralba in the forests throughout. With its very gradual gradients, the cycle track is ideal for both adults and children combining sport and nature, relaxation, fitness and wellbeing.

– From Calalzo di Cadore to Cortina d’Ampezzo: on 37 km of cycle track along the former railway line which was taken out in 1964. The track winds past churches, museums and craft workshops and fascinating former railways stations all along the route on even gradients and wide bends. And the panoramas are every bit as interesting with the Valle di Cadore tunnels, the Antelao and Pelmo massifs, spectacular views over Centro Cadore lake and then the majestic beauty of the Tofana massif.

– From Dobbiaco to Lienz: on the Drava cycle track, 52 km long and one of the most attractive cycle tracks in the Dolomites, following the Drava river with magnificent views. San Candido is just 5 km from Dobbiaco and the cycle track goes right through it on town roads before continuing on the cycle track again into Austria for a further 13 km to Sillian. You’re in East Tyrol now and in Sillian an easy track takes you directly to the Loacker showroom where you can stock up on its delicacies. Continue for a further 18 km in the midst of the forests between the towns of Tassenbach and Mittewald and then on to Thal where Arnold Schwarzenegger was born. A further 16 km takes you to Lienz still in the midst of the countryside with pleasant ups and downs. There are small, pleasant picnic areas, restaurants and snack bars en route for a taste of local cuisine. In Lienz the cycle track finishes at the railway station where a cycle transport service by train or taxi will take you all the way back to San Candido again. The San Candido to Dobbiaco section is not served by the Austrian train and so you will need to cycle the last 5 km of uphill track to return to your starting point. These are just a few of the many mountain bike routes you can choose from in the Dolomites. You’ll find further information and a great range of proposals for your holidays at our agency.
